Jared and I needed to go grocery shopping this week. I asked Jared if he would help me make the grocery list. While I was thinking of other things we needed to get he added a few of his own.
It looked something like this:
lettuce
tomato
baked potatoes
carrots
bread
cheese-its
wheat thins
sausage (for jambalaya)
soup
fritos
soda
mashed potatoes
cereal
hamburger
pot pies
something that strikes our fancy
candy
dirigibles
a funny little hat
the french revolution
Needless to say it's is hard to find things like dirigibles and the french revolution at the grocery store.
We did in fact find a few things that happened to 'strike our fancy.' I made sure to point out the candy to Jared.
I also suggested a pack of balloons and a bag of french fries to Jared as being the closest I could come to dirigibles and the french revolution. Unfortunately, I forgot to look in the toy aisle for a 'funny little hat.'
So vacation is over. We went to AR for my sister's wedding. There was much chaos and last minute finishing of decorations, the cake, and the dress. But everything worked out and Sarah was beautiful. We didn't get too many pictures
during the wedding, but there are a few up in Jared's website gallery.
We got to see my little cousin (not yet 2 years old) for the first time. He's adorable and was very well behaved for a little one in a strange and new place with a bunch of strangers.
We went to one of the state parks in the area on Sunday afternoon. Jared got quite a few pictures there. It was very pretty.
But the main thing we did was to get my parents addicted to Wii--Wii Sports to be more specific. Dad loved bowling, and made pro in less than a week. Mom really liked tennis. They were so funny to watch. Mom's talking about trying to get Dad a Wii for Christmas. I've never seen my dad enjoy a video game sort of thing. It was pretty amazing!
So we didn't really get to do anything exciting on our vacation. Which was a bit of a bummer. Then we got home and I got to do such things as pay bills and do laundry. Fun times. That Saturday I had CPR class at work, and then that afternoon we had the block party at church. That was okay, but got rained on...We did game after that which was fun. Then Sunday was very very busy...and just tiring all over.
So overall this week I've just kinda feel bored. Coming back from vacation is always a bit of a let down, but...I don't know...I just feel like we didn't really get to do anything fun on vacation. It seems it should have at least something in it just for fun.
And so we're back to normal everyday life. My desk is still a mess, but I have no desire to clean it right now. The kitchen seems to be in a constant state of needing cleaned, no matter how many times I clean it (and I've done that several times since we've been home).
On the up side as of this morning at work I think I've finally caught up with everything that was waiting for me upon my return. So things should be a little less hectic there.
Well...I guess that's about it for my currently boring life. Though I guess boring is better than bad. So I should stop complaining.
'Til Later
